Start by holding your shoulders back and stand tall – that’ll make the world of difference before you’ve even hit the gym or started your workout at home.

Quick and Easy Shoulder Exercises

Women can do lots of toning exercises to start with and this will make such a huge visible difference.

The Dumbbell Shoulder Press is a great exercise, it can be performed on a chair, a bench in the gym, on a stability exercise ball or even in a standing position.

You will need a couple of dumbbells, of a weight to suit your level of experience and strength.

  • Start by taking a dumbbell in each hand and holding your hands above each elbow, out to the sides, and with your elbows just below shoulder height.
  • Raise your arms up and over your head until your arms are straight but not locked.
  • Hold for 2 seconds and return to original position.
  • Repeat 10-12 times and try to do 3 sets of these.

Shoulder Exercises Women Can Do Too!

Exercises women can do to improve the tone and shape of their shoulders include simple lateral raises.

Again these can be performed standing up and slightly bent forwards, on a chair or a bench and on an exercise ball.

A couple of light dumbbells are useful for this exercise also.

  • Position yourself in your start position, with dumbbells touching and arms down in front of you.
  • Raise your arms out to the sides, but do not take your elbows any higher than your shoulders.
  • Hold for a count of 2 seconds and return to start position.
  • Repeat and perform 10-12 reps, 3 sets in total.

Beautiful and toned shoulders look so attractive on a woman especially when complimented with beautiful and toned upper arms, but if you’re a guy and want bigger shoulders there is more you should know.
